"Between 2008 and 2011, the economy was really, really bad. And some things occurred and Nissan made a way for the technicians to still have a job when other automobile industries, they were forced to take other steps. Nissan was there for us."

 


Randy Pippins

Production Manager, Paint Plant
Hometown: Columbus, Miss.

"Nissan impacted my career and my personal life dramatically. I was able to come here with a high school diploma as a technician, get promoted to an area manager, get the opportunity to go back to school using the educational reimbursement plan, and get my bachelors."

 


Tanesha Moody

Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Body Shop, Technician
Hometown: Hattiesburg, Miss.

"Every day when I walk through those doors, I’m excited about being at work. I just love my work group, the environment, everyone that I’m around, my supervisors. I just love Nissan itself. It is a people-friendly environment and I couldn’t imagine myself working or being anywhere else."

"Every day is a joy to come to work. All of the new vehicles, the new designs, you know it’s just really nice where you can say that we’re building something and we are really making a difference in someone’s life."

 


Kim Ragsdale Ervin

Hometown: Jackson, Miss.

"The plant has had a big effect on my life. I was a single parent with three children. I had two in high school and one in junior high. And, I managed to get them through high school and two through college."

"I’ve been fortunate that in my 10 years, every group I’ve worked with has been a great group. And every supervisor I’ve had has been a great supervisor."

"My family and I get to work with Habitat (for Humanity) and we’ve made it a family experience because at some point in my life I could have been one of these families struggling. It’s good to give back to the community."

"Having a problem, like in repair, and being able to figure it out, that’s what gets me excited. The goal is to make the safest, best quality vehicles for the customer."
